Chamber board chair, Leigh Ribolzi welcomed all of the attendees and thanked the sponsors for their involvement in the community and their support of the chamber. She then asked Billy Roland to open the meeting with prayer and bless the food. Afterwards community updates were given from members who were present.

Leigh then introduced chamber president KaCee Holt who gave updates from the Chamber and then the speaker for the program. Mike Jackson from the Georgia Industries for the Blind out of Bainbridge gave an overview of their facility and products. He included information about their new license and product line in conjunction with the Georgia Department of Agriculture and their Georgia Grown merchandise. He then spoke about a new line of shirts they had available that “are grown in our dirt.” These shirts are made from cotton that was grown, ginned, and made into shirts right here in Georgia. They can be screen printed or bought plain at the facility in Bainbridge. Mike talked about the opportunity for blind employees at their facility and how they have various products in production and available for purchase. Next he introduced one of their employees in attendance who spoke for a minute about how he appreciated the opportunity to work at the facility. At the conclusion of the program, Georgia grown cotton-themed door prizes were given out.

KaCee then thanked Mike for being there and for taking the time to come and give the community an update. She also thanked Ken Roberts and the Miller County Gin for their community involvement and for sponsoring the breakfast. KaCee closed by thanking the Moby Dick for another great meal and wished everyone who attended a great weekend.
