Austin Pickle Scores 1,000th point during Friday night’s game


Pickle is a high scorer last Friday night. Pickle is a high scorer last Friday night. Austin Pickle, a 6’ 3”, junior point guard at Southwest Georgia Academy, scored his 1,000th point January 5, 2018, during the SGA VS. Fullington Game in Damascus.

Pickle hit five three point shots in the first half of the game. Austin is averaging 21 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals per game, and is shooting 72% from the free throw line. During the off season, he plays with the AUSA Rampage, an AAU team out of Dothan, Alabama. They travel all over the tristate area playing in tournaments during the summer.

His love of the game is evident in his dedication, enthusiasm and his giving 110% every time he is on the court. He is the son of Brian and Hayden Pickle of Colquitt. His grandparents are Charles and Pam Pickle of Colquitt and Tommy and Janice Whitehurst of Blakely. Austin would like to thank his teammates and coaches for helping him accomplish this milestone.
