Last Chamber Breakfast of the Year held Friday


Laney Hall entertains COC with Christmas songs. Laney Hall entertains COC with Christmas songs. The last Chamber Breakfast of 2017 was held on Friday, December 1, at the Tarrer Inn in Colquitt. A delicious breakfast was prepared for chamber members and guests.

Chamber president, KaCee Holt, welcomed everyone and thanked Birdsong Peanuts for sponsoring the December breakfast. President Holt then gave an update on Chamber events that were coming up including the Christmas Parade on December 15. She then asked for community updates starting with the hospital.

CEO Robin Rau of Miller County Hospital informed guests of their expansion and plans for the coming months. It is exciting to hear what all is happening at our hospital and the opportunities it is creating for our town and our region!

Mr. Billy Roland announced that the Christmas lights at Spring Creek Park will be on during the evening hours of the weekends of December. The week leading up to Christmas, the lights will be on every night.

Catherine Van Stone gave an update from the Miller County Library and encouraged attendees to check their calendar for the many events they host each week.

President Holt then introduced Valarie Mock of Birdsong Peanuts who gave a brief update from Birdsong and talked about some of the products they were a part of.

Next Ms. Holt introduced Matt Dalrymple, headmaster of Southwest Georgia Academy. At the conclusion of his comments, he turned the program over to Colquitt citizen and SGA student Laney Hall. Laney is the daughter of Kevin and Christy Hall of Colquitt, and she entertained with a couple of Christmas carols.

It was a real treat for the attendees of the breakfast! Afterwards, KaCee thanked them for the program and again thanked Birdsong Peanuts for their support of the Chamber and our community as a whole. She then wished everyone a Merry Christmas and concluded the breakfast.
