One Vehicle Wreck on Bellview

On Thursday, October 12, 2017, at approximately 6:58 p.m., a call went out from dispatch that an accident with injuries had occurred involving a vehicle that had traveled off the roadway and hit a tree on the Bellview Highway.

First responder units went to the scene, including Miller County Emergency Management Service, Colquitt Volunteer Fire & Rescue Service, Miller County Sheriff’s Department officers, and the Georgia State Patrol.

The accident report shows that Marsellas Mike Jones of 2892 Tom Sheffield Road in Damascus was traveling east on Bellview Road.

The driver stated that his right front tire blew out, causing him to lose control of the vehicle and run off the road.

The vehicle, a 1987 Ford Crown Victoria, traveled onto the south shoulder of the road and struck a tree with the front of the vehicle. The area of impact was on the south shoulder of Bellview Road.

Jones was checked at the scene by Miller County EMS for possible back injuries but refused treatment to the ER.

According to reports, the occupant was wearing his safety belt and was not ejected from the vehicle.

The vehicle was towed by Hall’s Wrecker Service due to disabling damage.

Jones was issued a uniform traffic citation for tire requirements.

Trooper First Class Marcus Marchant of the Georgia State Patrol Post 14 in Colquitt was the reporting officer.
