Let Off Some S.T.E.A.M.

Do you have a child who loves science and technology? Are you trying to encourage your child to learn more about the sciences? The Miller County – James W. Merritt, Jr. Memorial Library will be offering S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) programming once a month. Our first S. T. E. A. M. Program will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at 3:30 p.m., and participants will work with an invention kit that turns objects (like a banana) into a keyboard. This program is ideal for elementary aged children who are able to read independently. Spots are limited, so contact the library at 229-758-3131 to register.

The Southwest Georgia Regional Library System is part of the statewide PINES system. What does that mean for you? It means that you have even more books at your fingertips! Library card holders have access to books that may be housed in libraries outside of our three county service area, which means that if the Miller County – James W. Merritt, Jr. Memorial Library does not have a book that you want, we are able to order from another library. To place a book on hold through PINES, visit our website at www.swgrl.org and log in using your library card number and PIN or you can call us at
