Colquitt to Host First Bless Your Art, Southern Folk Life Festival

Calling all local artists! In conjunction with Georgia’s Official Folk Life Play, Swamp Gravy, the Colquitt Miller Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the first Bless Your Art, Southern Folk Life Festival. This will be held in downtown Colquitt on the square and will feature homemade arts, crafts, folk art, demonstrations, and more! We are looking for locals who have a hobby, talent, or a demonstration process such as carving, making syrup, candle making, or anything that might be of interest for our festival! We are excited to showcase some of our local artists and also bring attention to the arts from this area.

With Swamp Gravy in its 24th year of production, we wanted to join in and celebrate the arts and folk life. This will be the first festival, and Chamber of Commerce president KaCee Holt says that they would like to see it as a new tradition in town! She said, “We are excited to be able to host a festival on the square. We know it will be a first “run” of this event, but look forward to showcasing the talent from our region!” The South is known for its unique talents and artwork, and this will be a great way to showcase that for others.

We will be sharing more information about this in the weeks to come, but if you would like additional information or to register to be a vendor, please contact the Colquitt Miller County Chamber of Commerce at 229-758-2400, find them on Facebook, or their webpage at www.colquitt-georgia.com. We look forward to seeing you in October!
