All-Star Tournament dedicated

All-Stars dedicate tournament to the late Coach Jason Nixon. All-Stars dedicate tournament to the late Coach Jason Nixon. On May 27, 2015, Miller County lost a very influential part of the sports community.

Coach Jason Nixon was one that definitely made his presence known around ball parks wherever he was. He would cheer on the other team as well as his own team and child.

He had an infectious personality and wanted not only his son, Cade, to succeed but the rest of the children as well.

If he were here today, you might hear him yelling catch phrases like, "you can't hit what you can't see" or " you can't hit the ball with the bat sitting on your shoulder."

He would start out coaching but wasn't scared to wind up watching from the parking lot if he didn't think the kids were being treated fairly.

The All-Star tournament that started Thursday, June 18, at Spring Creek Park was dedicated to Jason.

“Coach Jason was loved by so many, and we know that he’s here with us today. We know that he's our Angel in the Outfield,” stated coordinators for the event.

Jason was injured on Monday morning, May 18, when he was electrocuted working on an irrigation system. He succumbed to those injuries on Wednesday, May 27, 2015. His unique coach ing style will be missed by players and fans.
