Forgery in the First

Degree - Check

On July 22, Chief Investigator Richard Morgan spoke with Amy Stovall. Stovall advised Inv. Morgan that someone had forged multiple checks on their Road Runner Account at Peoples Bank. All checks were cashed at the Food Mart in Colquitt and then deposited in Ameris Bank in Food Marts Account. Antoine T. Powell was charged with 17 counts of Forgery in the First Degree.

Theft by Taking

Less than $500

On July 30, Chief Investigator Richard Morgan was dispatched to 231 Grow Street where he spoke with Jennifer Jordan. Jordan advised Inv. Morgan that someone entered her residence and stole a Craftsmen chain saw with a 16 inch bar. The chain saw was also a 38 CC saw.

Vehicle Accident

On July 31, Barry Justin Josey was parked at the Miller County Sheriff’s Office. Stanley Lane Johnson was parked at the Miller County Health Department. Both vehicles were backing at the same time. Both vehicles misjudged clearance, and both vehicles struck each other. No citations were issued.

Officer Natalie Moulton was the reporting officer.

Vehicle Accident

On August 2, Frank Kimble was stopped on Crawford Street to turn right into the Dollar General Parking Lot. Amanda Nicole Joiner was following too close and struck Kimble’s vehicle on the rear driver’s side bumper. Joiner was cited for expired license.

No injuries were reported at the time of the incident. Kimble was found at fault due to following too closely.


On August 3, Jasmine Harrelle stated that she and her boyfriend (Lance Dwight Cotton) had gotten into an argument. She stated that he shoved her down and began to hit her. She stated that he punched and kicked her several times. During the altercation Harrelle suffered a laceration to her right leg, causing her to have to get stitches.

A check through GCIC revealed that Cotton is on probation in Decatur and Seminole County. Also, Cotton has active warrants in Decatur County. Based on the information received from the victim and the significance of her injuries, charges were filed against Cotton.

Lucas Davis was the reporting officer.

Disorderly House

On August 3, Officer Natalie Moulton was dispatched again to 12 Wallace Drive in reference to another Domestic. Upon arrival, Officer Moulton spoke with Willie C. Roberts (Bear) and advised him that he was under arrest for Disorderly House. Roberts was transported to the Miller County Jail where he was booked.

At the jail, Roberts was very uncooperative and hostile with Officer Natalie Moulton.

Vehicle Accident

On August 3, Priscilla Ann Cook was backing out of a parking stall when she struck Viola W. Weaver’s vehicle. Weaver was waiting to merge into traffic on First Street when she was struck by Cook. Cook struck Weaver’s vehicle in the driver side rear with the driver side rear bumper. No citation were issued.
