Grant’s Bar and Grill opens A good crowd of well-wishers were on hand to witness the ribbon cutting and opening of the newest business in Colquitt. Colquitt's newest business opened its doors Saturday, September 4, 2010, at noon.

Grant's Bar and Grill, owned by former Miller County football star, Charles Grant is located at 407 East Crawford St. on U.S. Highway 27 South.

Grant was unable to attend the opening of his new establishment, due to other prior commitments, but will be back in Colquitt this week to welcome everyone to his new business.

Charles chose this day for his opening to coincide with the opening game day of the Georgia Bulldogs, where he also played for three years before being drafted to the New Orleans Saints. He ended his NFL affiliation with the Saints last year, but not before he received his 2010 Super Bowl XLIV ring for helping his former team make it to the top.

We are here to serve you. Please come to see us. We are here to serve you. Please come to see us. A special friend of Charles' from the University of Georgia, Fasha Lewis, assistant solicitor general in Augusta, welcomed the crowd and wished Charles and his parents a successful business.

Minister Vivian Williams, great-aunt of the owner, gave special prayer for the owners and the new business.

After many kind words were spoken, Ralph and Theresa Warren and Joquarius Hawkins, parents and brother of Charles, cut the official grand opening ribbon and opened the business to the public.

Everyone was invited to go in and order from the large menu and watch the opening game between Georgia and Louisiana- Lafayette on one of the seven large-screen TVs placed inside the new establishment.

“We had a great opening day and look forward to serving the people in and around Colquitt with some of the best prepared food that a stove, grill or oven can prepare,” Theresa Warren stated. “Come in and enjoy yourself with some friends.”
