Cooke, Franklin speak wedding vows

Mr. and Mrs. David Charles Cooke Mr. and Mrs. David Charles Cooke Laura Tiffany Franklin of New York City, New York, formerly of Statesboro, Georgia and David Charles Cooke, also of New York City, formerly of Staten Island, New York, were married on June 7, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. The bride's parents are Ms. Emma Lou- ise Keaton Franklin and Mr. Herbert Lehman Franklin, Jr. of Statesboro, Georgia. Her grandparents are Mrs. Peyton Howard Keaton Jr. and the late Mr. Keaton, of Colquitt and the late Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Lehman Franklin, Sr., of Stateboro. The bride's maternal great-grandparents are the late Ms. Chloe Ollie Jones Cheshire and the late Dr. James Leslie Cheshire and the late Dr. and Mrs. Peyton Howard Keaton Sr. Her paternal great-grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie Thomas McArthur and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Oscar Franklin.

The groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Alfred William Cooke of Staten Island, New York. His grandparents are the late Ms. Clorinda Mardus McAteer and the late Mr. Charles Francis McAteer, Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Phineas Cooke. The groom's maternal, great-grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Herbert Mardus and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Francis McAteer Sr. His paternal greatgrandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. William Lazarski and the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Lionel Cooke.

The ceremony was performed by Reverend Ricky Allen and Captain Herbert Lehman Franklin, III, brother of the bride, at the Savannah Yacht Club, in Savannah. She was given in marriage by her mother and father. The bride wore a long, strapless, white, Duchess satin, fitted gown by Reem Acra, featuring a low, sweetheart back, enhanced by a hand-beaded bodice and train. Her long veil was white, silk tulle.

The matron of honor was Mrs. William Brady Harmon, formerly, Julie Anne Franklin, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Katie Hopper Childre, Mrs. Jodie Greco Morrill, Ms. Stephanie Ann Reynolds, Mrs. Katherine Talutis Tooley, and Ms. Anna Franklin Wickman. They wore long, bluebelle blue, bobinette-over-lame', strapless gowns with sweetheart necklines, by Vera Wang.

The flower girls were Little Misses Emmaline Harmon and Honey Harmon, nieces of the bride. Their tea length dresses were Hollyannah Heirlooms in sky blue, Swiss satin batiste. They were hand-embellished with white, French, hand sewn lace and pin tucks, with Swiss beading.

The honorary bridesmaids were Mrs. Brandi Lanier Colson and Mrs. Jeri Hughes Gardner.

The best man was Mr. Daniel Alfred Cooke, brother of the groom. The groomsmen were Mr. Christopher Michael Abbruzzese, Mr. Mark Thomas Ahart, Mr. Jason Quillan Clauss, and Mr. Sameer Alam Khan.

The ushers were Mr. Joshua Alexander Clauss, Mr. Gene Forrest Dyar Jr., Mr. Stephen McArthur Franklin, Mr. William Brady Harmon, Mr. Bradley William Poch, Mr. John Keaton Sheffield, and Mr. Ashton Lee Stanton.

After a honeymoon trip to India and Italy, the couple will reside in New York City.
