Teen reflects beauty, inside and out

Macy Moulder
For at least one young lady in Warner Robins, pretty is as pretty does. Sure, she's a beauty queen; but Macy Moulder on the inside is just as pretty as what you see on the outside.

The 14-year-old daughter of Guy and Rhonda (Wilkin) Moulder was recently crowned Miss Feagin Mill Middle School where she is an eighth grader. Not only did she win the title; but she swept the competition, winning all the preliminary categories- evening wear, talent, and spirit wear. Wearing her spirit wear, Macy introduced herself to the audience and explained why she chose the outfit. She was wearing her Feagin Mill Dance Team uniform and described her passion for the school and for dance.

Macy admits that it was a little nerve-wracking waiting on the judge's final results. "I felt I did my best, but I had no idea about what the outcome would be," she said. "Being in pageants has really helped my public speaking skills, not just on the stage but in the classroom as well," she said. "Confidenceis the main key to speaking. Pageants also are a great way to meet other girls and make new friends," she noted. "You are there to encourage each other. You are competing with them, but with yourself as well," she said.

Macy also holds the title of Miss Georgia State Clogger and Miss Bleckley County Cherokee Rose. She is a past Junior Miss Dogwood Queen. Nancy Whiddon, director of the Miss Dogwood pageant said Macy's comments about friendship and encouraging others are an example of how Macy lives her life. "Her attitude is sweet all the time," the pageant director said. "She is very talented, very sweet, but she is also very caring about others."
